I am proud to say that I am the founder and the director of the Nor Cal Figurative Art Guild. I am blessed to draw from life several times a week. Drawing from life informs the mind and strengthens the imagination. In a world that is hyper obsessed with novelty, drawing for the pure joy of it, is a rejection of the hollow gimmicks and kitsch novelties of the postmodernism obsession, and is embracing of universal truth of  beauty that unites all of nature. This practice dates back to ancient Greece- and perhaps even farther back in time. The camera has made shortcuts for the lazy artist. Those who labor to set their imagination free, to be limitless, to acquire the ability to construct anything they can imagine- draw from life.
